This is one of my favorites of the 12 volume series. This one begins with Yujiro making his entrance after Baki had justed defeated a well known wrestler. Yujiro proves that even though Baki has come along way, his skills are beyond nothing compared to his. Yujiro's appearance ignites a couple of very long standing feuds in which these fighters want their revenge. Doppo Orochi aka The Tiger Slayer publicly challenges Yujiro.
A match is scheduled and booked. This volume shows the vast knowledge of these two competitors. Using various arts. Yujiro shows his true evil power. The battles still continue. A surgeon on a quest to prove himself in the arena also makes his way into the tournament. This fight is very unusal and its something original. Some of the later volumes are better than this to me. This also begins the Tournament saga.
I recommend getting the complete boxset. Baki the Grappler is that good for action fanatics.

Excellent! Out of the 9 DVD's I've seen so far in this series, this
one stands out due to some of the greatest arena battles. We are
treated to seeing the infamous Yujiro Hanma display his brutal
skills against another well known fighter, "The Tiger Slayer" Doppo
Orochi. This fight is well done and shows their profound knowledge
in their fighting arts. Baki eventually looks on in disbelief as he
witnesses the depths of his Father's evil -- the evil that he will ultimately face once again. Soon after, Baki has his own difficult challenge ahead of him in a "skilled" surgeon that applies his trade in the ring. This is also a very interesting battle as we learn more violent ways of injuring another human's body. This DVD ends the first part of this saga and gives us a quick glimpse of the Tournament Saga.
