As the fantasy-adventure Bleach approaches the end of its first season, Ichigo faces his greatest challenge. Defeated by supernatural assassin Renji Abarai, he watches Rukia return to the Soul Society, knowing she will be executed for sharing her powers with a human. Urahara, a.k.a. "Hat and Clogs Guy," tells Ichigo it may be possible to save Rukia, and begins a grueling training regimen for the orange-haired teen-ager. As Ichigo learns to unleash his latent powers, Chad and Ohime prepare to accompany him under the tutelage of Yoruichi, Urahara's talking cat. Although he's the sworn enemy of all Soul Hunters, Ishida also prepares to join the rescue. Some of the lessons backfire, providing slapstick comedy to balance the action. At the end of episode 20, Urahara constructs an inter-dimensional portal that will link Earth to the Soul Society for seven minutes: can the four high school students save Rukia and return in time? (Rated Teen, suitable for ages 13 and older: violence, grotesque imagery) --Charles Solomon

Product Description
Rukia the Soul Reaper knows she is on borrowed time, staying in the world of the living longer than allowed. Having transferred her powers to Ichigo, she is in big trouble when two enforcers from the Soul Society come after her. Now Ichigo will have to master his sword and learn to control his spiritual energy if he is to save her from execution!

Continuing to be a very fun story arc, this volume moves us into very interesting places and settings. With a very solid lead in completed, this story arc is going to be very interesting to watch as Ichigo and his team move into the next phase. Fun to watch this volume keeps the series moving in the right direction.
