Amazon.com The third season of the popular shonen (boy's) show Dragon Ball Z continues the adventures of Goku and Gohan on Namek, Piccolo's home planet. Goku, who has been in a regeneration tank since the end of season 2, recovers just in time to challenge the sniggering Frieza, one of the most grating villains in anime history. Having defeated Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta, and Piccolo, Frieza takes on Goku in a protracted duel. When he begins to doubt his ability to overcome Goku, Frieza destroys the core of Namek, ensuring it will explode in a matter of minutes. Enraged by the death of Krillin and so many others, Goku transforms into the one thing Frieza fears: a Super Saiyan, a legendary warrior who appears once every 1,000 years. As the seconds tick away, the two most powerful individuals in the universe duke it out. While they're beating the soba out of each other, King Kai hatches a plan to use the Dragon Balls of Earth and Namek to ensure a happy ending. As the battle between Goku and Frieza intensifies, the kicks and punches fly, producing titanic explosions. But the duel goes on for more than 20 episodes: With only a limited budget and crude special-effects techniques at their disposal, the filmmakers have to recycle footage endlessly. Dragon Ball Z: Season 3 is more entertaining when the viewer allows a few days to elapse between episodes, rather than indulging in a Super Saiyan marathon. (Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, brief nudity, tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes) --Charles Solomon

Goku vs. Freiza= Awesome!!!!!!!!!!! April 11, 2007 The Real Godfather (Los Angeles, CA USA) 14 out of 25 found this review helpful
Now it seems to me that people are complaining a lot on this whole DBZ remaster thing. I say the hell with that. This is indeed that greatest thing ever to come out of Japan. I already own Season One and Season Two, let me just say one thing it's magic. It doesn't bother me that it has been trimmed down from the top and bottom it is still flawless. Of course I'll get this Third Season. So for those who have something to complain about, complain of why DBZ hasn't hit the big screen yet. There something to think about.
Best Saga! August 6, 2007 Sajda A. Veriatch 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
Season 3 of Dragonballz features the whole Frieza Saga. Although I love most of the DBZ Sagas, this is my favorite saga out of all the others. I remember I alway wanted to get this saga but it was 10 tapes or DVD'S and the cost was around $80-$100, and I could not afford that. But thanks to the new DBZ season sets I could get this for 30 bucks instead. I'm going to buy this the first day it comes out.
The Frieza saga brought me to DBZ September 26, 2007 RaiderOfTheArk (Canada) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I started watching DBZ when they first aired the dubbed, cut versions on YTV here in Canada. (96, or 97 I believe) I was hooked instantly. Let me tell you, it's not a good thing to be addicted to DBZ during 11th grade when all your friends are too cool for cartoons. (Let alone now around ten years later) But what do they know?
...Anyways. Since they first released episodes on VHS, I've always been waiting for the complete sets. ''Frieza'' was the first saga that I ever saw, and is my personal favorite. It's truly a pleasure to see them again.
Anyone reading this probably knows the deal with FUNimation's decisions with the recent three box sets. It's no different here. The picture is cropped on the top/bottom. You gain a slight amount of picture on the side, so it's not all negative. The picture looks great though, and thats what counts. Try watching this on a HDTV using a upscaling DVD player and you'll get my point. The colors are bright, and the picture clear. The last thing you'll be thinking is "I really miss seeing the tip at the top of his hair."
You get all the episode's uncut, with original Japanese audio (There's english dub included though) All 33 episodes for thirty bucks. Thats a great deal. Thanks to FUNimation, we can purchase the first 107 episodes uncut, for less then $100 bucks. That is very rare in the anime home video world.
