The second season of the Black Lagoon (2006) ratchets up the action and the violence, as the appearance of two sadistic assassins throws the underworld into an uproar. Revy, Dutch, Benny, and Rokura "Rock" Okajima can't keep away from the excitement, especially when there's an enormous bounty on the assassins' heads. Romanian orphans who developed a taste for cruelty by performing in snuff films, Hansel and Gretel Comen appear to be brother and sister, but they switch identities by donning or removing a long silver wig. Their reign of terror is brief but grisly, as crime boss Lady Balalaika dispatches them with some unwitting help from Rock and company. Once the Comens have been disposed of, Revy gets involved with counterfeiters, an international crime syndicate, and a group of hard-drinking, chain-smoking nuns.Bullets, gore and four-letter words fly. When Lady Balalaika comments, "We're all going to be knee-deep in blood before this ends," she isn't kidding. Seeing as Geneon was never going to bring it on dvd since they don't care about the fans. Funimation was more reliable and finally released it to dvd instead. It is worth it and this anime is only for adults. So keep all the sensitive weaklings from watching it. The 1st of three dvds is a great buy.
And for those of you who don't know. A third season is underway.
