Amazon.com As Destiny, the sequel to the popular Gundam Seed, continues, relations between the normal humans and the genetically enhanced Coordinators deteriorate. Renegade Coordinators disturb the orbit of the enormous monument, the Junius 7, positioning it to strike the Earth. Shin, Athrun, and other Mobile Suit pilots from the Earth and ZAFT work together to destroy as much of Junius as possible. Although they save the Earth from complete destruction, the devastation is still enormous--and precipitates a declaration of war from the Earth Alliance against ZAFT. The growing cries of the humans to purge the Coordinators from "our pure and blue world" can be read as a commentary on 21st-century politics. Athrun agonizes over the renegades' references to his father's ideas, but finds time to court Cagalli. Director Mitsuo Fukuda skillfully blends CG and traditional animation to give the space battles maximum pizzazz. But the story feels padded: The scene of Shin finding his sister's body appears at least once per episode. (Rated 13 and older: violence, brief nudity) --Charles Solomon
Description Cosmic Era 73. The world is once again poised on the brink of war. Despite the best efforts of the Minerva and her crew, terrorists set the war memorial Junius Seven on a course that will cause it to fall out of its orbit and hit the Earth. The PLANTS get ready to defend themselves from what they perceive to be an inevitable retaliation by the Earth Forces. Meanwhile, back on Orb, the government debates about what to do in the wake of such a serious disaster, and Cagalli doesn't see eye-to-eye with her ministers. Sequel to the blockbuster hit Gundam SEED! Character designs by Hisashi Hirai. Genre: Action/Sci-Fi/Mecha.

Keeps Getting Better!!! June 15, 2006 Amycat (Petersburg, VA USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
For those of us who love Seed, this is a great disk! Be careful reading this, it may cause nail biting while you wait for the mailman!!! We see Junius-7's final hours, which causes alot of conflict for Athrun, Cagalli, and Shinn. Of course, we also see some old friends returning (check out the leader of the ground crew that's helping fix the Miranda), and of course, when he has a problem, who does Athrun turn to? (Hint - His name starts with a K...) But, who is that pink-haired girl that Athrun runs into in the Plants??? I know you're yelling at the TV - Hey,isn't she supposed to be in Orb with his best friend?! Is it REALLY Lacus? (check the hair ornament out, if you haven't already) I am eagerly awaiting the next disk, which will see the return of some more old friends, as well as possibly the biggest wedding crasher ever!!!
