The best I have seen August 22, 2003 iodinekelp (San Diego, Ca) 9 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have seen a few other Lupin movies, The Mystery of Mamo, Dragon of Doom, and Castle of Cagliostro, but Voyage To Danger is my favorite! This movie made me want to see every Lupin movie ever made! If you are used to the show on Cartoon Network, this movie might seem a little strange at first because the voices are different. Most of the characters look pretty much the same, with the big exception of Fujiko, which also takes some getting used to. But after the first 2 minutes you can tell this is going to be a great movie, and it doesn't let you down. This movie had everything that The Mystery of Mamo didn't. If you are trying to make the choice on what Lupin movie to buy, buy this one!
Pretty Damn Good September 1, 2003 S. Kurosu (Nowhere) 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
This LupinIII movie has entirely different voice actors, animation style, and a tiny change to the characters personality (Jigen calls Lupin "Boss", Fujiko isn't as "un-loyal" as she normally is, etc.) But moving on... this is a very good LupinIII movie, its not as sexual as "Mystery Of Mamo", but not as soft as "Castle Of Caughliastro" (I hope I spelled that right). Over all the animation was good. The only two things that bugged me were that Jigen called Lupin "Boss", and that Fujiko looked like Kuwabara's sister in YuYu Hakusho. Amen
A pretty fun voyage February 21, 2008 THE MAIN MAN (Central Bookin', NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is another pretty good movie starring the greatest thief ever. This one has a very interesting storyline and once again nobody is really wasted here. It held my attention all the way through. This one begins when Zenigata is taken off the Lupin case. He explains all this to Lupin while getting drunk with him. Which makes for some good comedy. The guy who takes his place is basically ordered to kill Lupin and his gang instead of arrest them. Lupin then joins forces with an arms dealer. Of course he has his own agenda. There is also a sub plot going on to keep this interesting. It's a very fun movie with pretty good action and comedy. It wasn't too big on the suspense. And things did seem a little easy for Lupin this time around. The dialogue is pretty good with some funny lines at times. And Jigen's mellow attitude is the best. I would give this about 3.5 though. I like it but not a whole lot. It's not a movie I can watch on a regular basis. But it's still a nice watch for the die hard Lupin fan. Anime fans who aren't familiar with Lupin probably shouldn't start here.
Voyage to Danger is a must watch for Lupin Fans July 1, 2004 Gregory J. Nonnemacher (Manitowoc, WI United States) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
When I got Voyage to Danger I was Disapointed at first, then i watched the whole thing and the only thing i didn't like was the drawing style that is different from the usual way. Then i learned it was from the 90's so I thought that was pretty cool. After about 20 years since it's release they still had ideas for plot-lines. The Movie stays active but doesn't have lots of Goemon. You need to see it nevertheless.
Voyage to a not so great Lupin movie January 25, 2006 Ronnie Clay (Winnsboro, Louisiana) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was expecting a Lupin movie cause they are cool, funny with great music and brilliant plots. This on however, was different. The first thing that got on my nerves was the animation. It was really choppy and the drawings were done in a very ridged style which was very different from the one used in the TV series. It remind me of a slide show (only with a stupied plot).
