A Great Addition for Lupin DVD Collectors April 21, 2004 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
All of the episodes featured on Lupin the Target have NEVER been aired on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim (as of Tuesday, 20 April 2004). That reason alone is enough for any Lupin fan to get this DVD! Each episode is as humorous as the previous ones released, and in addition, the featured episode, "Lupin the Interred", has a well-done dark-themed feeling. Each episode is preserved with an opening, preview, & ending; the opening is the vocal Lupin the 3rd Theme, and the ending is the vocal Love Theme. In addition, the bonuses include the original Japanese opening and a non-credit opening. Of course, the only flaw here is that the preview for "Revenge of La Nerd" is on the previous DVD, not on this one, and this DVD features a preview for "A Rumble Royal", which would be included on the next DVD.(...)I finally got the opportunity to see this DVD in its new English dubbing. I lowered my rating to four stars because of how the ending theme was handled. Instead of preserving its vocal ending, it still kept the original karaoke. How disappointing that I would have to switch the audio language to Japanese to hear it. I mean, WTF is these guys smokin'!!?
Good classic anime Tv series March 16, 2006 David FERNANDEZ SABIO (Torrejon de Ardoz, Madrid Spain) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I loved this show based in the comic books of Monkey Punch. It follows the adventures of master thief Lupin the Third nephew of the French Arsene Lupin and his gang composed by Goemon Ishikawa a master samurai and Deitsuke Jigen a cold blooded gunman.Sometimes joins to the band Fujiko Mine a bussom beautiful lady expert in conning and also thieving.Where the most valuable or expensive treasure or antique is Lupin the Third and his gang trying to rob it.The Dvd has 5 episodes that are in order as they originally broadcasted with the preview and even the commercials break. The series are well translated and the voices of the dubbers are quite similar to original japanese. The only flaw in this Dvd is that the English subtitles are the translation of the Japanese version not the English dubbed version.Sound and picture quality are more than average.I will wait for next volume.
Lupin III: Master of Cool December 20, 2004 N. Bashur (Lincoln Park, MI United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD has 5 episodes that were never shown on US television. There are several great adventures on here. The Greatest would be Lupin the Interred where Fujiko works with Zenigata, of all people, to try and save Lupin's life, but Lupin suffers a tragic fate anyway...or does he? In another episode, Lupin and Zenigata are captured by a terrorist organization and forced to work for them, but being good citizens, they plan an escape only to be chained together by their necks, producing hilarious results. This is a great set of episode. Add it to your collection, and pick up Castle of Cagliostro while you're at it.
~Lupin Rules!~ May 10, 2007 DaveGrohlLover (Pahrump, NV) The fun never seems to die when your watching a Lupin the 3rd DVD. It has the wonderful Tony Oliver doing the voice of Lupin. He makes Lupin..Lupin I'm sorry. I can't watch the other version of Lupin without Tony. The episodes are really good.
