The demon-slayers' village turns out to be the source of the Sacred Jewel, the key to this adventure series. With some help from Sango, Inu-Yasha, Kagome, and their friends are able to enter a vast cavern and learn how the Jewel was created long ago in a battle between hordes of monstrous demons and Midoriko, the greatest priestess of the age. The Shikon, or Jewel of the Four Souls, embodies the qualities of courage, friendship, wisdom, and love. When they function together, harmony and happiness are the result. But the Jewel is also a miniature battleground between good and evil: a metaphor for the world--and for Inu-Yasha's heart, as he vacillates between selfishness and kindness. To his credit, director Masashi Ikeda presents all this information without losing the tempo of the story's ongoing comedy and adventure. (Rated: 13 and older: violence, grotesque imagery, brief nudity) --Charles Solomon

Description
"I will tell you… how the sacred jewel came to be." Believing Inuyasha responsible for the death of her kin, Sango, the Demon-Slayer, launches an attack against Inuyasha and the others. Eventually convinced of Naraku's duplicity, Sango returns to the Village of the Slayer for healing, her injuries preventing her from pursuing the insidious demon further. There, Sango takes the group to an ancient cave where the Sacred Jewels of the Four Souls was said to have been born. Later (and now joined by a more-recovered Sango), Inuyasha and the others come to a large lake said to be ruled by a water god. When it is discovered that this so-called "god" is requiring child-sacrifices, the possibility that a Jewel Shard is involved is raised…

Inu-Yasha Vol. 9 - Episodes 25, 26, 27

4 out of 5 stars Good but not the best of Inu Yasha   April 6, 2004

These three episodes (25, 26, and 27) are good but a bit disjointed. Episode 25 is the best, although as is typical you can't fully appreciate it unless you have seen the last disk. It's kind of a "part two" of a plot by the main villain, Naraku.

Episode 26 is slow and overly complicated, not to mention "lost in translation" I suspect. It adds a layer to the whole story of the Sacred Jewel that just wasn't needed imo. Instead of trying to *explain* what a "jewel of four souls" was they should have just left things open ended.

Episode 27 is one of the most disposable of the series, a detour to fight a very minor demon with no connection to the larger plot-line. About all the episode does is integrate Sango into the main group a bit, rather than having her as an outsider of the "guest star" variety.

Extras are the typical ones: line art, short japanese promos, cast list. Cover art continues the now very tired trend of (1) open-mouthed "angry" Inu Yasha, (2) open-mouthed "helpless" Kagome, and (3) one other character (this time, Sango).

In this anime, After meeting the demon slayer called Sango, she tells the InuGumi,(Miroku,Kagome,Inuyasha,Shippo) the secret and past of the Sacred Shikon no Tama. In the three episodes, they fight a Fake Water God, whle Sango joins them on their quest of the Sacred jewel.
