As the hit fantasy-adventure Naruto continues, Sasuke must face Gaara in the final round of the Chunin Exams, a match that has a greater significance than either participant realizes. The students face off while Sand and Wind ninja attack the Hidden Leaf Village. The attack has been planned by the evil Orochimaru, who was once a student of the Lord Hokage of the Leaf Village. The fight between Sasuke and Gaara, who repeatedly proclaims he lives only to kill, is an essential part of Orochimaru's scheme: he hopes to take over Sasuke's body and keep himself perennially young, using a forbidden jutsu (magical technique). But Sasuke overcomes Gaara's clouds of enchanted sand and wounds his psychopathic foe. Other students from the Sand Village spirit Gaara away, with Sasuke in pursuit; Kakashi-sensei summons up Pakkun, the ninja dog, and tells him to lead Naruto and Sakura to Sasuke. Between battles, the filmmakers offer flashbacks of the lonely, bitter childhood that warped Gaara's personality. Naruto, who was also rejected as a child, understands what Gaara suffered, but he's reduced to a minor player in these episodes. Volume 6 ranks as the darkest and least comic installment to date in the saga of Naruto Uzumaki. (Rated T+ Older Teen; suitable for ages 12 and older: violence, toilet humor, grotesque imagery) --Charles Solomon

Option for Japanese with English subtitles, or to watch in English. I never use the subtitles while I'm watching in English, because they are different than what is being said-which drives me nuts-but the reason for this is because of who was translating. The translation for the spoken english is more accurate than the translation for the subtitles-for various reasons I won't put here.

But I'll have to wait and see if it has the 14 episodes it says it has because I just noticed that even though box 5 says it has 14, it only has 13 listed on its episode list (that nice little paper inside the boxes that tells you which episode is on which disc). I haven't actually watched my whole box yet, so I don't know if there are 14 or 13, but the list only lists 13.

But anyways, this box will cover the final rounds of the chunnin exam (starting with the fight between Sasuke and Gaara) which is interrupted when the village is attacked by the sound ninja and the sand ninja. While the Hokage is locked in battle with Orochimaru, Sasuke takes off after Gaara and the two other sand ninja with him, to stop them from using Gaara as their ultimate weapon in destroying the village. Naruto, Sakura, and Shikamaru go after Sasuke, trying to reach him in time to save him fromt eh danger he is in.

5 out of 5 stars Still a good series so far   February 13, 2008
THE MAIN MAN (Central Bookin', NY)

Even though I consider Naruto more a guilty pleasure than anything else. It's a very fun and entertaining guilty pleasure. I like how the story has begun to revolve around other characters. This collection of episodes isn't just action packed with some very good battles. But what Naruto does best is give background stories of additional characters. Even though Gaara's story has been done before, it was still very well done.

This one begins during the tournament when Gaara and Sasuke face off. The tournament is canceled due to a sneak attack on the village. Then everything gets way out of hand then. You finally get to see what other characters can do. The major battles do drag but atleast it furthers the story. I'm just glad to see it's a little less comedy than usual. Overall I like the way this is turning out so far. Volume 6 contains eps. 66-78 plus there is a new opening.

5 out of 5 stars super series   December 30, 2007

Fist some info about the naruto series
At this moment the series on Japanese television is at episode 260
This box will cover late 60's till 70's eps, so a very long way to go
Only buy this if yr willing to buy everything, cuz every ep is connected, mis 1 and yr lost

It's called the uncut version
Wich means it has the uncut japanese audio with english subs
Like what previous review says the english audio and subs dont match, That is cuz the japanese and english dont match
The series translators for us tv have been overly creative and just made alot up, that never was said or done in the japanese version
Needless to say the Japanese version is the best version

This series is worth paying for, but before you buy consider that you'll be stuck to buying the uncut boxsets for the next 5 years at least

5 out of 5 stars Naruto Just Has To Be Good   December 9, 2007

Although this series is probably overly prolonged, the writing is good and the animation isn't too rotten for a cheaply produced series. There is rarely an episode that isn't interesting in some manner and although the idea of murder is passed off as if it were somehow a natural thing, nevertheless the series is well worth buying.

5 out of 5 stars CANT WAIT FOR BOX SET 7   February 22, 2008

OMG I AM SO MAD!!!(in a good way) I CANT BELIEVE THEY LEFT US HANGING IN THERE FINISHING THE LAST EPISODE THAT WAY!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT SAY TOO MUCH BUT YOU JUST HAVE TO SEE IT!!! as usual Naruto leaves you breathless but this time more than ever! not just us but his companions tooo! In that box set there is a lot troubles happening...
I found personally the whole box set a bit slower than the other ones. Let should say that it starts with Sasuke and Gaara facing their challenge,to the ambush of the hidden leaf village(which is a bit long), and the running around the forest...but the end is sooooooo worth it!
Here s what box set 6 says in the back as a resume:

"SASUKE RETURNS AT LAST TO FACE GAARA IN THE FINAL ROUND OF THE CHUNIN EXAM WITH HIS POWERFUL NEW JUTSU, CHIDORI. BUT THE MATCH IS INTERRUPTED WHEN OROCHIMARU'S SCHEME TO BRING DOWN THE HIDDEN LEAF VILLAGE IS PUT INTO MOTION. WHILE THE THIRD HOKAGE FACES HIS FORMER PROTEGE OROCHIMARU AND HIS DREADFUL FORBIDDEN JUTSU, SASUKE TAKES OFF AFTER GAARA AND THE SAND NINJA, AND NARUTO, SAKURA AND SHIKAMARU TAKE OFF AFTER SASUKE! WILL THE NINJA OF THE HIDDEN LEAF SURVIVE THE EVIL THAT HAS BEFALLEN THEM?"

There is 3 discs with about 4 episodes each. and here they are:
DISC 1:
66. Bushy Brow's Jutsu: Sasuke Style!
67. Late for the Show, but Ready to Go! The Ultimate Secret Technique is Born!
68. Zero Hour! The Destruction of the Hidden Leaf Village Begins!
69. Village in Distress: A New A-Ranked Mission!
70. A Shirker's Call to Action: Layabout No More!
DISC 2:
71. An Unrivaled Match: Hokage Battle Royale!
72. A Mistake from the Past: A Face Revealed!
73. Forbidden Secret Technique! Reaper Death Seal!
74. Astonishing Truth! Gaara's Identity Emerges!
75. Sasuke's Decison: Pushed to the Edge
DISC 3:
76. An Assassin of the Moonlit Night
77. Light vs. Dark: The Two Faces of Gaara
78. Naruto's Ninja Handbook
79. Beyond the Limit of Darkness and Light

Like i said in my other reviews of box set 1-2-3-4-5
buy them two at the times because if you get excited just like me every time there is a fight or good action, you might notice that they always cut it at the end of the third disc for you to buy the next season!!!
BOX SET 7 COMING OUT MAY 6 2008 RESERVE NOW!!
Hope the review helped you!!! If You like Japanese animations, YOU WILL LOVE THIS ONE!!
