Ever since the lovely alien Lum arrived and decided the lecherous Ataru Moroboshi was her "darling," life at Tomobiki High has been in a shambles. When she gets angry at his attempted infidelities, she zaps him with lightning bolts; when she's pleased, he gets an equally powerful jolt. Shinobu, whom Ataru considers his girlfriend, is permanently furious with him. The girls' combined tempers reduce the town to rubble, enraging the neighbors and leading Ataru's mother to conclude, "I never should have had him." In "Black Hole Love Triangle," the trio racks up 3 billion yen in damages; a voodoo doll of Ataru has him flying over buildings--and into Shinobu's bath in "Electric Shocks Scare Me!" Urusei Yatsura ("Those Obnoxious Aliens") may rank as Rumiko Takahashi's broadest comedy--Ataru's misadventures make Ranma Saotomi look downright dignified. Like every anime from Rumiko Takahashi, Urusei Yatsura is just great. This DVD contains episodes 5-8, and if you already watched DVD 1 (I guess you did), then you'll love this one, because it is even funnier than the previous one.It's a pity AnimEigo is releasing each DVD bimonthly, if you want to watch all 196 episodes, you have to wait 8 years and a half to have all DVDs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We do hope they release all DVDs at once after they finish selling their boxsets.

Urusei Yatsura is the early work of the creator of an equally funny series, Ranma 1/2. Like Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura is very character driven, so the later episodes tend to be better than the earlier ones, as characters are introduced. Nevertheless, both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are must buy anime for anyone who enjoys comedy. Heck, Urusei Yatsura is a must buy for anyone who enjoys comedy! Excellent anime!

Ataru Moroboshi has it tough. He's the most hated person in Nerima Ward, and surprisingly, it's not his lustful nature that causes this. It's all because of his association with the Oni(devil) alien Lum, who claims him as her husband. If she's not getting him in trouble at school, she's getting him in dutch with his real girlfriend, Shinobu. With the arrival of the Priestess, Sakura, perhaps he can be cured of his woes. Oops! Guess not. Between demonic possession, voodoo dolls, black holes, wacky priests, electric shocks, and yes, even time travel and lecherous dinosaurs, what is poor Ataru to do?
Well, I don't know about him, but I know what you ought to do. Buy this series!
