Great! August 15, 1999 Moviman764@aol.com (IL) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This was a great video. It had everything, guns, girls, action, and just plain fun. Don't take that "Mature Audience" thingon the side serious because the only thing that would make this higher then a low rating is the violence and a couple of shots of people in their underwear. This also seems a tad bit to American to be Japanesse made Anime. I actually think this is sort of an American made anime (if there is such a thing.) Well other wise it was great.
Girls, guns, cars, bombs, and bounty hunter action abound. March 11, 1999 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the dubbed english version of all three episodes of the gunsmith cats videos which are based on the Manga comics of the same name. They chronicle the exploits of Rally Vincent, a young, vixen-esque Chicago gun store owner/arms expert whose hobby is bounty hunting. She is aided by her partner Minnie May Hopkins, a child/waif whose bliss is in explosives as a complement to Rally's firearms fixation. Minnie's also got twice the libido to Rally's apparent total lack of interest/understanding in the ways of love. Lots of action, consisent plot development, and definite adult leanings. Progressively more graphically violent from episode 1 to episode 3. Rally goes after gunrunners, bailjumpers, and female ex-KGB assasin with some occasional add'l assistance of a whiny affeminate DEA guy. Liked the artwork lots. Didn't care much for occasional girlish gigglefest. Liked theme music and opening art. Could this be the Japanime equivalent of a female Magnum P I ? Yup. Worth a look? Yup.
Brilliant story, creative characters, original to the core! January 13, 1999 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
GSC is a great vid with a really addictive theme-song and good animation. A movie you could sit down and watch any time of the year. You'll enjoy the characters for their quirks even though some of the basic concepts have been done, they're hilarious here. I saw this video and fell in love at once! Highly recommended for anyone who loves a half-serious, half-joking violent anime flick!
Tons 'o fun. June 26, 1999 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The anime version of the "action/buddy comedy." Lots of fun. The directors must have done their research because I have never seen animated vehicles and weapony so realistically portrayed nor a more real-looking modern city (specifically Chicago). It's also a fun flick because it gives American viewers a chance to view themselves through foreign eyes (in animated form, anyway).
These cats will rock your animated socks off!!! August 26, 1998 qbert@shentel.net (Virginia, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
