5 out of 5 stars A quality addition to FMA   March 8, 2010

I purchased the entire series of FMA on Amazon as well as Conqueror of Shamballa on Blu-Ray. I made sure to watch the series before popping the movie in and was glad I did. I loved the movie. I'm not sure if watching the series is necessary before watching the movie, but I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if I didn't. It's a great addition to the show. The Blu-Ray quality is apparent with some gorgeous visuals. The US actor commentary, talk session, and making of in the special features are pretty good. Overall the movie was solid, same talented voice work, interesting story, and the Full Metal Alchemist vibe in all its high-definition glory. 5 Stars.

5 out of 5 stars Great ending to a great series   May 31, 2010

First off, if you are a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, this is a must buy. That said...

This was a great ending to the series. Fans who watched the 51 episodes prior to this were likely a bit disappointed with the ending of the series itself. It was rather open-ended, with little in the way of actual character resolutions. The movie, however, fixes this. it's a great ride from start to finish that leaves you satisfied when the end credits start rolling. Without giving anything away, I would suggest that you have at least watched enough of FMA to know the characters, but ideal you should have watched the entire series itself before watching the movie.

As for the video/audio, the movie looks great on Blu-ray. The colors are vibrant and the audio is crisp and clear...though there is a bit of an issue with line consistency, but over all this is a HUGE improvement over the DVD.

4 out of 5 stars A rerelease of the "Limited" in 2006.   April 6, 2010

This is a special edition on the two disc limited released in 2006. This is however much cheaper and for a reason too. This includes the two special with everything from the last release minus the post cards and the hardcover book. The cover is the same image but on a black armory case. The quality of this set is good but on the second disc, it would appear to be defected as the subtitle for the whole disc is unreadable with obvious flaws but the english extras are uneffected. This could be only my copy though. Great set for a great price, I got this for $17.99. If you don't care for the interview with the cast (which is in Japanese) than get this.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Finale!!!   July 18, 2010
Rockstar Romeraux (Baker,Louisiana)
I bought this movie at a recent anime convention and I actaully got it signed by Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric), and Mike McFarland (Lt.Jean Havoc). Isn't that awsome!!???

Anyways, on to the reveiw. Conqueror Of Shamballa is the finale of the first Full Metal Alchemist series (before Brotherhood). I don't really understand the story quite yet, for I never finished watching the origional series on Adult Swim, but I was able to make out some of the story. Still, my suggestion is to finish watching the origional series first before watching the movie. Anyway, the story was still excellent, the drama, action, and suspence were all the highlights of this epic film. I also suggest buying this on Blu-Ray, because it looks awsome in 1080p resolution.

Overall, Full Metal Alchemist The Movie is one of the best anime films i've ever seen, and an excellent finale to an excellent series. 5/5!

If your a fan of the series, you simply have to buy this.
If you are not familiar with the series, you have to watch the series first.
This is for the DVD as the Blu-ray is not out yet but with the visuals in the movie, it will be worth it to get the Blu-ray version.
